"They took numerous Hard Dance awards, had their track featured in the film Bruno and got play on MTV's Dance channel in Holland. Harddance duo Showtek, aka Dutch brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen, has had a phenomenal year". Mixmag
"If the prodigy made Hardstyle, it would probably sound something like Showtek's album, Analogue Players In A Digital World! DJ Mag
Over the past 12 months, Showtek have exploded within the hard styles, from headlining the biggest festivals to picking up many awards, to selling out their debut 5000 capacity show in America! They're kind of a big deal! BBC Radio 1
Showtek have experienced a meteoric rise to fame… Their distinct production, world acclaimed albums, award wins and mind blowing performances have gained them recognition as global ambassadors for the hard dance world.
They released their first artist album 'Today is Tomorrow' in 2007, a masterpiece that became a rapid worldwide success.
Since this catastrophic launch to fame Showtek have been unstoppable; they became the first hardstyle act to record a Radio 1 Essential Mix; they received many accolades, including 'FTS' and 'Hold Us Back' being awarded The Beatport Award for 'Best Selling Hard Dance Track of 2008', as well as titled 'Best Track' and 'Best Hard Dance DJ' at the Hard Dance Awards 2009. Showtek's massive 'Raver' was featured on the soundtrack of the international blockbuster 'Bruno', the Sacha Baron Cohen movie, and to top all of this off, Showtek sold out solo events for thousands of die hard fans from every corner of the globe, from Asia (2500 people), Australia (both Melbourne & Sydney over 5000 people), Europe and Holland (over 6,000) and even the USA, with their appearance in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium being a 5000 capacity sell out.
As a result of such demand for Showtek, the brothers will start a collaboration with the most prestigious event production company around; Unlimited Productions, (the driving worldwide force behind the likes of Tiesto and Ferry Corsten) that will push all Showtek solo events to a much higher level.
Showtek's second album, 'Analogue Players in a Digital World' was unveiled in 2009 at the prestigious 'Amsterdam Dance Event' (ADE) in collaboration with the 'Art of Dance' again showcasing their ability to push the boundaries of hard dance once again, gaining them the title of 'Best Album' at the 2010 Hard Dance Awards and ranked number two in the world on the biggest Dutch dance music website 'Partyflock' after scoring the highest review points.
Showtek also picked up 'Best Track' for 'World Is Mine' for a record breaking third consecutive year, of which Andy Souwer (K1 world Champion fighter) teamed up with them to shoot the video, and 'Best DJ' crown for the second time at the Hard Dance Awards, as well as being titled number 113 in the world famous DJ Mag poll.
Among all this Showtek brothers are also the proud owners of 'Dutch Master Works' – a solid platform for their own and other artist releases. Dance-floor bombs such as 'FTS' and the award winning 'Hold Us Back' have catapulted the label towards being the best selling in the hard dance world and in 2009 was selected by MIXMAG as 'The World's Premium Number 1 Hard-style Label', as a result EMI Germany invited Showtek to mix their biggest selling hard dance compilation series of which sales exceeded 20,000 copies of each release.
In August 2010, Showtek will be the first hard dance act to host their very own arena at one of the worlds leading festivals, Dance Valley in Amsterdam.
Showtek are setting a new standard for hard dance, pushing boundaries and crossing genres in a way hard dance has never experienced before – a good example of their versatility and wide appeal being their remix of trance legend Ferry Corsten's all time biggest hit System F 'Out Of The Blue' and the biggest names in dance music also asking for remixes, including none other than Tiesto, Laidback Luke and Koen Groeneveld.
The Eindhoven based brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen have reached the top of their game after years of blood, sweat and tears. Watching and hearing Showtek is a joy to behold and they get no bigger kick than a crowd going nuts to one of their own productions at a show; "As DJ's we tend to play a lot of our own work. It's not that we don't like other people's music, but we get a huge kick out of playing our own tracks. It's a privilege to have a steady and loyal following of clubbers that goes into the thousands and who really are into your music."
Showtek's stunning live-shows, devastating DJ sets, and massive production hits, have led to much deserved world domination.
